Your care pathway

What Happens When You Have Surgery?

Before any surgical procedure, a comprehensive eye examination is performed to establish an accurate diagnosis and determine the most appropriate treatment.

Your care pathway generally includes:

  • An ophthalmology consultation to establish the diagnosis: assessment of your vision and identification of the eye condition
  • A preoperative consultation
  • The surgical procedure, usually performed on an outpatient basis
  • Postoperative follow-up: monitoring the healing process and improvement in vision
